Ceremonies, functions, people, food, arrangements and all the noise and operational malfunctions that are an inseparable part of any Indian celebration of ceremonies . . .
Now, it's not like we Indians are bad mangers (actually we are just great, as proof take a count of all those thriving mgmt. grads and alumni), but we just like things to be on a scale grand and spread out, and with a lot of scalability is inherent a bit of manageability challenge . . . .
At some point of time in my life I wanted to run away from it all, thinking why in the hell do we need all this chaos ! But, I ve been surprising myself more than I de like, coz now I really have to enjoy and look fwd to all such things.
This realization just reminds me that I cannot run away from my mooring how so ever I may want, I cannot deny in name of modernity or change, those very things that define and decide my identity.
A lot of Indians crib about a lot of Indian traditions and the price they demand in terms of time and involvement, out of individuals and families and communities and society, but the reason why we still keep doing it , is coz we just LOVE it !!
Oh, come on, who wld give up on all that yummy food and those festivities, a chance to meet and greet, smile and cry at the same time?
Life wld be so boring and monotonous without them . . .
