Faith/ belief/ power of the mind....call it whatever you may, it does have a weird hold over lives.
And btw, I believe that they do happen.

The law of diminishing marginal utility...
It's a law of economics (again!!). And the best example I can recall to explain what it says goes something like this -
When hungry - with every successive roti you eat, the amount of hunger being satisfied by that roti, decreases steadily. That is, the first roti satisfies maximum hunger, second less than that, third even lesser......and so on.
Now I see that holding true in life too. (Yeah again!)
But then I wonder if the hunger diminishes steadily, why do pot bellies exist?
Coz hunger does get satisfied, greed does not.

If I could have my way, I would keep everyone I love atop red velvet cushions... only to see them revolt to get off it!
