...WAITING

She never knew that waiting can be so much fun. It was a lovely movie and she had been longing to see it so much. But it had been more than 50 weeks since release and by now all her friends had seen it and the thought of going alone to the theater did not appeal much to her.

She had known this guy for a long time. They were friends. Nothing too great about their friendship. At least that was what she let the world feel. Deep inside, she nurtured softer feelings for him, but never had the courage to show. Once she had tried too, but failed miserably. So she decided to wait forever, wait for something divine to intervene.

They met after a long time that saturday evening. The conversation was light and happy. Talking of everything from weather to food to music to movies......they came to talk of movies, and this particular movie was mentioned.

"I havent seen it yet !" she said with a tinge of regret.

"Oh its a lovely movie, I ve seen it thrice, and can still see it again."

Wow! her brains racked, should I , should I not?
"Cmon be brave" , her heart told her.
"Watch out that you dont send the wrong message", her brain told her.
"What should I do", she pleaded herself.

Somehow, the heart won for a moment, and she blurted out

" Alrit, so you can certainly see it for a fourth time, cant you?"

"Of course."

Was this true, she still could not believe. She had never dreamt of having such a chance with him ever. And here he was asking her, or was it she asking him, for a movie. Whatever it was, it was happening.

"Hey, we can plan and go one of these days.", he said interrupting her course of thoughts.

"Certainly!"

And then the conversation started back, and went on for some time on very many things.

Almost three weeks have passed since they had this conversation. He has been changing his job, and setting up a new apartment. New place, new responsiblty, in all he has been quite busy. But he hasent forgotten, he thinks of it sometimes and smiles.

She is still waiting for her movie to come. Checking the newspapers every friday, praying fervently that the good old movie is still around.
But strangely she is not feeling any anxiety. She is enjoying this wait, waiting for him to turn up and take her there.
